Low interest rates and investing
While interest rates are still low, and the U.S. economy improving as it is, it seems to be an optimum time to consider buying real estate. Whether your first purchase, additional home or rental property, there is some good opportunities to view. Second homes can not only be for vacation escapes, but for long or short-term vacation rentals.
Timing is always important in investing in real estate. The Wealth Management4 site states that “rising mortgage rates may increase the costs of purchasing properties. On the flip side, an improving economy means property owners could benefit from higher occupancy rates and rents, which increase the value of real estate.”4
Decades of research has shown that when the cost of capital falls, investment rises, as it did when the theory was first articulated by John Maynard Keynes some 80 years ago.3
